The Function and Using Tips of Activated Carbon from Coconut Shell

What are the functions of activated carbon from coconut shell.

1. Coconut shell granular activated carbon is often used in gas phase adsorption, and the air flow is usually adsorbed through the activated carbon layer.

According to the different states of the activated carbon layer in the adsorption device, the adsorption layer can be divided into fixed layer, moving layer and flow layer.

However, in small adsorbers such as refrigerators and deodorizers in cars, adsorption depends on the convection and diffusion of gases.

In addition to granular activated carbon, activated carbon fibers and activated carbon products are also widely used in gas phase adsorption.

2. The air in instrument rooms, air conditioning rooms, basements and undersea facilities often contains body odor, smoking odor, cooking odor, oil, organic and inorganic sulfides, corrosive components, etc., due to external pollution or affected by the activities of people in a closed environment. Cause precision instrument corrosion or affect human health.

Activated carbon can be used for purification to remove impurities.

3. Coconut shell activated carbon can be used in chemical plants, leather factories, paint factories and projects using various organic solvents to discharge gases containing various organic solvents, inorganic and organic sulfides, hydrocarbons, chlorine, oil, mercury and other ingredients harmful to the environment, which can be adsorbed by activated carbon and then discharged.

The gases discharged from atomic energy facilities contain radioactive krypton, xenon, iodine and other substances, which must be absorbed by activated carbon before discharge.

The flue gas from the combustion of coal and heavy oil contains sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, which are harmful components that pollute the atmosphere and form acid rain, which can also be removed by activated carbon.

4. There are many use cases of coconut shell activated carbon for refining gases, such as gas masks, cigarette filters, refrigerator deodorizers, automobile exhaust treatment devices, etc., all of which make use of the excellent adsorption performance of activated carbon to remove toxic, harmful or smelly components from the gas.

5. Desulfurization alcohol activated carbon: used as the carrier of gasoline mercaptan (deodorization) catalyst in refinery catalytic unit.

6. Vinylon catalyst activated carbon: used in chemical industry as catalyst carrier, such as vinyl acetate catalyst carrier and so on.

7. Monosodium glutamate refined activated carbon: used for decolorization and purification of mother liquor in the process of monosodium glutamate production, and can also be used for decolorization and purification of fine chemical products.

8. Special activated carbon for cigarette filter tip: used in cigarette filter tip to remove tar, nicotine and other toxic and harmful substances in cigarettes.

9. Special activated carbon for citric acid: used for decolorization, purification and deodorization of citric acid, amino acid, cystine and other acids.

10. Special activated carbon for direct drinking water treatment: activated carbon is used for deep water purification of household direct drinking water, water treatment of waterworks and production of barreled water.

Tips in the use of activated carbon from Coconut Shell.

1. In the process of transportation, coconut shell activated carbon should be prevented from being mixed with hard materials and should not be stepped on or stepped on to prevent carbon particles from breaking and affecting the quality.

2. The storage should be stored in porous adsorbents, so in the process of transportation, storage and use, flooding should be absolutely prevented, because after flooding, a large amount of water is full of active voids, making it useless.

3. Coconut shell activated carbon should prevent tar from being brought into the activated carbon bed in the process of use, so as not to block the gap of activated carbon and make it lose its adsorption effect.

4. Fireproof activated carbon is stored or transported to prevent direct contact with the fire source, in order to prevent ignition and activated carbon regeneration to avoid oxygen and regeneration thoroughly, after regeneration must be cooled to below 80 ℃ with steam, otherwise the temperature is high, meet oxygen, activated carbon spontaneous combustion.
