The development of medical rubber stoppers

With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, health issues have been paid more and more attention. As a Rubber Stopper Manufacturer, share with you.The demand for various pharmaceutical products continues to increase, and the requirements for rubber stoppers for medical products are getting higher and higher. In order to prolong the effective storage period of medicines, it is required to achieve better sealing. In order to be suitable for the packaging of various new drugs, higher chemical resistance is required, so the drug plugs with natural rubber as the main raw material are far from meeting the requirements, while IIR and halogenated butyl rubber (XIIR) are the smallest Pollution, low air and water permeability, steam and atmospheric aging resistance, chemical resistance, puncture resistance, sealing, safety, etc. far exceed other types of rubber. If it is to be used in oil-type pharmaceutical medium, neoprene (CR) and NBR can be selected to meet its performance requirements. When the medicinal stopper requires special heat resistance, silicone rubber and ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM) can also be used. ).

Commonly used rubber stoppers mainly include antibiotic stoppers and biological medicine stoppers. The formula of antibiotic bottle stopper is: raw rubber is mainly NR and IIR, and the rubber content is 50%~60%; clay, talc, white carbon black and calcium carbonate are used as fillers; the accelerator is combined with M, D and DM. It is more common, in addition, super speed accelerators such as EZ or TMTD can also be used; the amount of sulfur is not more than 2 parts; pigments generally use relatively stable inorganic fillers. The formula of biological medicine rubber stopper is: raw rubber is mainly NR, silicone rubber, IIR, EPDM, and the rubber content is generally high; it is best to use silica as filler; use low-sulfur or sulfur-free vulcanization system; generally no coloring is added agent; the content of zinc oxide should be as little as possible.

For medical bottle stoppers, it is not enough to have a good rubber formula. Whether the production environment is tight and clean, and the quality of production management and technical management will affect the quality of the product. When the rubber compound is mixed, if the mixing temperature is too low or the mixing time is too short, it is easy to cause uneven mixing. If the mixing temperature is too high or the mixing time is too long, it will affect the physical and chemical properties of the rubber compound. These factors will affect the performance of the finished product.

Generally speaking, under the specified pressure and temperature, insufficient vulcanization time will cause the product to lack sulfur, which is manifested as insufficient hardness, easy stickiness, poor heat resistance, easy blooming, high zinc salt content, and low acupuncture pass rate. If the vulcanization time is too long, it will cause oversulfurization. Some rubber compounds will become hard and brittle, and some will become sticky, which will reduce the pass rate of acupuncture. If the vulcanization temperature is too high, the rubber molecular chain will be broken, and even vulcanization will revert to the original. The tensile properties of the product are reduced, and the pass rate of acupuncture is reduced. In addition, after the product is formed, it must undergo post-treatment. The post-treatment is to soak the vulcanized medical rubber stopper in a certain concentration of acid or alkali solution for a certain period of time, so that the soluble substances on the surface of the product are dissolved in the solution. When the rubber stopper is chemically inspected, the result can be lower than the specified index.

At present, the variety and quantity of medical rubber products are increasing year by year, and their uses are also increasing. The application prospects are very broad.
